HOLLIS runs on a Windows PC. At setup it checks your computer and tells you exactly why if it cannot run. A graphics card makes the biggest difference to how fast HOLLIS answers.

Is there a subscription?

No. You pay once and HOLLIS is yours for the life of the product.

Does HOLLIS need the internet?

No. HOLLIS is a local AI: everything runs on your own computer. If you need an answer that only the internet has, ask HOLLIS to connect. It asks for your PIN, tells you it is connected, and stays online for 30 minutes or until you tell it to disconnect. Only your question is looked up. Your lists, logs and folders are never sent anywhere.

What is Tailscale, and why would I use it?

Tailscale is optional. It lets the free HOLLIS app on your phone or tablet reach HOLLIS on your home computer when you are away from home. It connects you to HOLLIS only, not to the internet through HOLLIS. You sign up for your own Tailscale account, and Krudo Designs never sees it.

What does Tailscale see?

Everything between your phone and your home computer is encrypted end to end, and Tailscale states that it cannot see what you send. To make the connection, Tailscale does see your account email and basic device information, such as the type of device and its network address. Your HOLLIS lists, logs and folders are never shared with Tailscale. Tailscale’s own terms and privacy policy apply.

What computer do I need?

A Windows PC with at least 16 GB of memory. A graphics card with 8 GB, such as an NVIDIA RTX 3060 or 4060, makes HOLLIS answer much faster. At setup, HOLLIS checks your computer and tells you exactly why if it cannot run. See the full requirements.

Does HOLLIS give health or diet advice?

No. HOLLIS keeps track of what you tell it and gives nutrition information from validated sources. It never recommends, suggests or coaches.
